FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Is it guaranteed to see the northern lights?

-This is probably the most frequently asked question ever and the answer is... Guess :)

No, the northern lights are a natural phenomena and no one can guarantee that we will see them. They depend mosntly on the solar activity and on the local weather. We can do our best to hunt them of course. Thats where local knowledge plays a bit part. Of course the more days you stay the more chances you will have to see them. Some people tries year after year and they are not lucky, some people come for a weekend and they see amazing shows every night. What I can guarantee is that you will have fun either way and an epic adventure to bring home. Is not about the final goal, but about the way. And the way to the northern lights is full of surprises and higlights and shared moments with either your family and friends or new friends you will make along the way.

2. Do you have a specific itinerary?

-I usually try to follow an itinerary and make sure to cover the main iconic places I love. However this might change along the way. The Arctic can be the most stunning and magical place you will ever see or it can be equally beautiful but definitely more challenging depending on the weather, so you just have to adapt and play along the way. Sometimes if you want to do go to a specific place we do have to book in advance. A kayak tour, dogsledding, the spa... so we do have an appointment but the rest of the time we are free to go one place or the other and adapt according to the circumstances and to our own wishes.

3. Will I sleep with other people in the same bed?

-Maybe. In the cold Arctic you will be happy to share your bed with another human being and it will definitely become a fun anecdote to tell to your friends back home. So far no one complained about this luckily. The motorhome has three double beds so depending on how many people we are you might have to share bed. It is in general a small space for sure but that makes it more cozy and we have the norwegian Arctic as a playground outside. Also mind that we have the option of not overnighting if you wish to sleep in your own accomodation.

4. Is it cold?

-The Arctic is definitely kind of chilly yes but one of the huge advantages of travelling with the motorhome is that we have two heatings on board and the chance to have a warm tea anytime so thats a huge plus no one else offers. The heating keeps an aproximate temperature of about 15 to 20 degrees. However I invite you to be friends with the cold, take it as an experience. not everyday you experience the Arctic and part of the experience is definitely the cold. I personally like cold exposure and I have totally experienced the benefits of it during my life. Jumping from the sauna to the snow is probably one of the highlights of the trip for everyone.

5. What is the minimum number of people you can take?

-I can take any private customized trip, even for one person. However mind that the price per person if you are two people would be of 350€ and sharing the food expenses.

6. Can you pick us up from our accomodation or the airport?

-Yes, however mind that the motorhome is a big vehicule and with some snow conditions it cannot climb up certain hills in town so we might just have to set an appointment somewhere else.

7. What if there is very bad weather.

-We have to play it by ear then and adapt the plan to the circumstances. If its storm weather all around the region you have to asume that that night you wont see the northern lights and you have to adapt to try another day. So we just have to stay in town and improvise some other activities. What about beer tasting? FLoating sauna? Going up the gondola? We have plenty of options and you can decide as you wish.

8. What other activities can we do on the trip?

We have many optional activities that we can do. Mind that the price of this activities is not included in the daily fee.

My favourite that I consider a must.

-Survival skills workshop.

-Sauna and spa.

-Visit to a Sami farm

-Dogsledding

-Skiing

-Boat tour

9. I have seen several motorhoomes on your pictures so what kind of motorhome is it?

-Along the years I have used different motorhomes on the trips that you will see in the pictures but my favourite is the current one. A classic Hymer, probably the best motorhome brand ever. They are sturdy, cozy and comfortable. We have a kitchen available and three double beds. And also a toilet available. Mind that the water might freeze sometimes but have frequent access to spa and sauna so in case the water freezes we always figure it out. Again this is the Arctic and exploring it in a Motorhome definitely has some challenges, but whats life without challenge?
